Digital Radiography
Digital Radiography produces high definition tooth and jaw images using lower x-ray
levels. We have been digital since we opened our new office in 2005. In August of
2013 we bought new, state of the art, digital equipment.
The sensor that is placed in your mouth is connected by a wire directly to the USB
port in our computer. When the x-ray is taken, it immediately appears on the monitor.
We also have TV monitors where we can show you the image, full screen, so you can
see what we are seeing.
The resolution of these images is the best available, allowing us to find problems
earlier, which makes the solution simpler and less expensive. We are very excited
about this new technology.

Intraoral Camera
In a nutshell, an intraoral camera is a small video camera that takes magnified
digital photographs of the teeth and gums. Since the intraoral camera is used in
tandem with a computer screen or television monitor, we can easily show you, in
real-time, what the condition of your mouth is. A picture may be worth more than
a thousand words!
The camera helps us evaluate teeth for decay, fractures, gum conditions and anything
in the mouth because it magnifies twenty times the normal size. These larger than
life views are amazing. It is wonderful to be able to show patients what is happening
inside their mouth.

Velscope Cancer Screening
Cancer screening is a very important part of our Prevention Program. Finding abnormal
growths early is necessary to control its development. We use the Velscope light
to aide us in identifying changes in tissue that lead to cancer.
Stopping problems early in their development, leads to successful treatment. Let
us know if you see of feel changes in color or size of tissue. If they do not heal
within a month, we should take a look at the area.

Laser Cavity Detector
Identifying decay early in its development is so important to prevent teeth from
weakening. The Laser Cavity Detector helps us find tooth decay so we can stop the
progression of tooth breakdown.
The Laser Cavity Detector shines a laser into the tooth we are evaluating. If there
is decay present it will fluoresce and give us a digital read out of the extent
of the decay.
When we can catch decay before it spreads, the repairs are smaller and easier. This
allows us to keep teeth strong and cavity free.
